Culture

Cultural Climate

How do we grow our values into plants, from the values which are the roots?

Culture grows from our basic values. By values I also mean assumptions, beliefs, things we assume to be right, which might or might not be true, ways of behaving, ways of treating each other, ways of thinking of who we are and what our purpose in life is, ethics, morality.

We can use the meditation for to explore and transform all these to something that feels happy and healthy.

Visioning

We can’t create something that we haven’t imagined first. When we go shopping, we imagine the shopping list first.

Envisioning what those plants would look like, that grow from the root values of Mother Nature is a very important part of the process.

We can find dystopias in any number of films and books, all kinds of dreadful scenarios for our future. There are very few positive visions of what we could do. That makes visioning even more important for us: to develop our imagination in a positive way.

I’m not talking about ideal utopias. However, our visions need to be idealistic, and then we have to learn how to apply them in practical ways that are going to work. also they need to work as we are in the process of transformation, not only when we get there to somewhere. That somewhere will be changing, because now we’ve disturbed the climate, and made it unpredictable. Part of what we need to imagine is how we can remain adaptable to changes in weather and other things.
